Women's Business Launch SUCCESS TeleSummit – May 12-16, 2008

I have put together a fun and educational telesummit for new and
budding women business owners, and I thought you might all like to
know about it. I’ve recruited what I consider the “best of the best”
mentoring across five broad themes: Knowing oneself, business basics,
selling your values, building support teams, and online/offline
promotion strategies.

I invite you to join in or to share with those you think may be
interested.

All the details can be found at: www.abusinessofonesown.com

Fifteen dynamic speakers will share inexpensive business-building
promotion strategies you can use to give authentic expression to what
matters most to YOU! Speakers include:

  • Viki Viertel (The Business Buddha)
  • Lisa Earle McLeod (Forget Perfect)

My “Little, Big Boy”

Ollie

My Golden Retriever Ollie was a personality among us, helping to shape our actions and color our days with spirit and laughter.

I loved him dearly, and can see and feel everything about him from his “smart bump” to the lush, curly fur on his chest and back ridge to his soft, graying face and knotted ear “nerdles” to his long, smooth flank and straw tail. Ollie “one note” made us pay attention and it was always worthwhile.

Me, the pups, and the catHe was my “Little, big boy” or “Big, little boy” — I never decided for sure… Continue reading

Walking My Talk & Taking Action

This week, I walked my talk—literally—and did something that had been on my mind for a long while. I cleaned up a 1.5 mile stretch of a road near my home. It was an inconvenience and I didn’t want to take the time away from other things I had planned to do, but the reward of following through on my good intention has improved my environment for me and my neighbors.

This week, I encourage you to think about what you can do… and then take action!

School’s Out!

Roger and I got a jump start on summer and we’re on vacation in the Dominican Republic this week (I’ll share pictures next week!) at the Sun Village Resort at Cofresi. I won a seven-days, all-inclusive stay in a raffle last spring. Lucky ducks are we!We are pampering ourselves with sun-filled days on the beach and by the pool, snorkeling with new bright-colored friends, showing off our Latin Dance moves at the resort’s nightclub (we took lessons in preparation for this trip), and trying every local culinary treat.

Our days are for the most part unplanned, subject to our moods and general whimsy, and we’re open to being delighted by whatever comes up. We actively anticipated losing ourselves in the stories and places… Continue reading

Making Room for the Unknown

Tomorrow from 9am-2pm, we are hocking our stuff in the Hillsborough Pride town-wide yard sale. We registered last week, so there is no backing out now… even though we’ve had a crazy and distracting week

Since our name and location is already printed on the event map, we can expect early-picking prowlers long before my first cup of black coffee has kicked in. Why did we set ourselves up to do work on a holiday weekend? Because we have too much stuff. Way too much stuff.

Last year, Roger and I sold our separate houses, and moved in with his mother Mary at her home. Luckily, there was a garage bay for the excess each of us brought to our “instant family” deal. Mary’s excess resides in bay… Continue reading
